Chris and I weren't sure if we wanted to get a Christmas tree this year, since we're going to be in Dubai with my parents for the holidays. But we went with Mahon and Cindy to go look at trees and we ended up talking about it a bit and deciding to get one, so here are the before and after pictures. Esau has been surprisingly good with the tree, he laid under it for a bit before we got it decorated, but hasn't bothered it since. Yay! That's a nice change from last year! But the Santa hat was just as hard to get him to ware as it was last year... poor guy, the things he has to put up with.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
OK, I'm horrible at Blogging! Sorry
So this was our Halloween costumes, The Three Musketeers.
The idea came to us in August when we found the Three Musketeers movie on T.V. one night. So slowly but surly we got all the materials and I sewed the costumes, (Shirts, pants, tunics, hats, and sashes) Chris ordered our swords and big hat feathers on line. Chris' wig and our boots were just covers we found at a Halloween store.
We won a prize at our Ward Halloween party too. It was a little pumpkin flashlight.... we were the envy of every three year old. there was also a "Baby Elvis" that won, and a family of Ghost Busters.
Chris thinks I'm going to make different costumes next year too.... Ya right! these were a lot of work! I'm not doing this every year. I'm content to be a Musketeer for the next ten years, thank you!

Yep, that's our dog

Yep, It only takes my dog a few moments to get himself into trouble. I was outside with Chris talking to a neighbor when I heard a crash from inside, I wasn't sure if it came from our house or the neighbors, but knowing I had just left the dog for a moment, I thought I might as well check, and this is what he had done. (Watch the video.)

6 month Anniversary

Chris and I just had our 6 month anniversary, so Chris came home from work with this beautiful bouquet of flowers! I had make a really good Cake called "better than anything cake". It has another name but this one sounds better.

6 months and still going strong !!!

OUCH!!

We have my brother-in -law staying with us for a few weeks, and he brought his dog Cody up with him. So this little white dog decided one day as Esau was eating his own food that he would attack and tear apart Esau's nose.
I hear Esau just howling in pain and I look over to see Cody hanging from Esau's nose shaking poor Esau back and forth by the nose. I had to use great self control not to drop kick the Cody out my front door.
As soon as I let Cody back down stairs you would have thought that Esau would be afraid of him, but Esau just went back to trying to play with Cody.
The thing that really got me was that two days latter Cody did it again, and one day after that tried to do it again but he barely got a nip in before I grabbed him and put him in the upstairs room. Sufficient to say he rarely came out of the room after that except to go outside to do his business.
So now that the little white dog is gone Esau's nose is safe from further scarring.

Esau....Destroyer of Toys

Esau had a little lamb, little lamb, little lamb, Esau had a little lamb.......... Until he tore it apart! (and we found out that the lambs insides are whiter than its outsides)

Fun with the Family

So this weekend has been really crazy! First I had some friends from Peru come up to visit, and we made some Peruvian dishes, it was a lot of fun. It was sure nice to see them again, because who knows when I'll be able to go and visit Peru again... My brother and sister-in-law came down from Canada for the weekend too, so we went bowling and snowmobiling. that was a blast since i haven't done that since I was really little, it took a while to build up my confidence but it was awesome... I also had to teach the Relief Society message this week, and after church we had a family potluck/ celebration of mine and my mother-in-laws birthday, that was fun and the cake was great... and my brother-in-law just came up from Utah and is saying with us while he works here in town. So yes...CRAZY would be a good word to describe my weekend... Crazy but fun too.
I got a few fun pictures of us snowmobiling and Esau playing with his "cousin" (my brothers puppy they brought down with them). The funny thing is that the little guy could get Esau on his back and keep him pinned down for quite a while, it was a blast watching those two play.

BLING BLING

We had to get Esau a new collar because the one we had was a "command collar" and he started ignoring it, every time we would try to correct him he would ignore us and keep doing what ever he wanted. So as recommended by professionals we got a "pinch collar" its a bit stronger so it will get the point across. He's had it on for two days and he's already made a lot of progress. We laughed the first time we put it on him, he looks like some kind of Raper with his "BLING" on.

The Santa Hat Process

Introducing the Family

Chris, Chantelle and Esau.
This was our Christmas Picture, the only picture I could find with all three of us in it and of us looking somewhat decent.
That Santa hat took forever to get on Esau, and then another eternity to get him to sit still and not tear it off while we took the picture.
I think we look pretty cute!

First Blog

OK, so this is the first Blog and we'll see how it goes.
Well, I have half an hour before I have to take the "Pooper" out for a walk. (a.k.a. Esau our five month old Chocolate lab) so we'll see how much I can figure out about this Blog before then. So I figured out how to post a picture, this is good. OK so maybe this won't be so hard. well this is the Pooper a.k.a. Esau, the picture is kind of blurry, but the Dog hardly ever stays still.
Well that's all for now the Pooper needs to go out.
